Jogging in 2010

Have you heard of Steve Prefontaine?

His time is 35 years past, but he was credited as a popularizing force behind the jogging resurgence of the early '70s. You can read about him yourself here.

What I found interesting,

His death date is my birth date (May 30). A bit macabre.
He was a world-class runner and remains an icon to sneaker corporations. Here's a Nike event from a while back that draws from this legacy.
He died at the age of 25. Runners tend to mature in the sport later in life, often in their 30s or 40s, meaning he could have been a contender!

Thanks to Steve Prefontaine for promoting running.
